WINNAR

WINNAR

I never win anything.  Ever.  Bupkis.  The last time I remember winning something meaningful was in the third grade when I won a blue ribbon in the science fair for my exhibit titled “What Puts the Fizz in Alka-Seltzer”  (Answer:  sodium bicarbonate and citric acid).  Okay, I also won my college’s Concerto-Aria competition my junior year as a music major, but both of those were the results of hard freakin’ work.  I never win contests.

So imagine my shock and surprise when I got an e-mail this morning saying that the outstanding specimens of daddy-blogging at Dadcentric.com had selected me as a winner of a SanDisk Slot Radio for my contest entry last week.  All I had to do was answer the question:  What’s your favorite fall/autumn song, and why?

I’m a musician, so this was, like, right up my alley.  But I’m also an idiot, so I answered honestly:

My favorite fall song is the “Thanksgiving Theme” from Vince Guaraldi’s soundtrack to “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.”

That particular Charlie Brown cartoon is my all-time favorite, and every time I hear that music my mind goes immediately to falling leaves, brisk winds, pumpkin pie, and footballs pulled away at the last second. It screams “fall” (in more ways than one).

I still won.  W00t!

My thanks to the DadCentric Crüe.  Your posts make me wish I had more kids.  Okay, not true, but it looks good on the blog.

If you having more kids, count me out…you better not have more kids.

Vince Guaraldi is the man. Good on you for the contest victory – a win is a win is a win – enjoy it. Good on you too for the clear communication that you and your wife employ.
